Bromsgrove, UK – June 2022– Trojan Consultants has named Wiltshire Council as one of the latest public authority to select its CasparCloud Appointeeship & Deputyship financial management solution, following its highly-anticipated launch as the successor to current market-leader, Caspar, in September 2021.
Wiltshire Council, who manage the financial affairs for over 500 clients without capacity, have an expansive Court of Protection team of 17 who all actively use CasparCloud for their daily case management. They join over 17 other Local Authorities who have begun using CasparCloud since last autumn to manage their ever-increasing caseloads.
The administration of the substantial number of clients at Wiltshire makes time a precious resource and the team at the council, who implemented the original Caspar solution in 2012, have been delighted to immediately find benefit in the efficiencies the new CasparCloud delivers, stating ‘the system increases speed and efficiency in the way they carry out roles.’
Time savings, cost reductions and making day-to-day tasks easier were the primary drivers of the Trojan development team when creating the new cloud-based solution. This included ensuring the user interface undertook a sophisticated facelift to make it more intuitive and user-friendly. When asked about the enhancement, Court of Protection Team Lead for Wiltshire Council, Cheryl Wood, confirmed Trojan’s hard work had paid off, commenting that “the system is much more user friendly. The ease of use and ability to look at duplicate tabs is helpful.”
Remarking on the ease of use across the system as a whole, Cheryl went on to say, “For super administrators, I think it is easier to understand than Caspar 1. The background set-up was much easier due to the setup of the Court forms and the speed that Caspar Cloud works at.” This will come as music to the ears of other Local Authorities set to migrate from the legacy solution as well as the growing list of new customers in line to implement CasparCloud.
The CasparCloud development also focused heavily on improving compliance conformity for Trojan customers, which was reflected by the decision to completely revamp the automatic bank reconciliation process. The automatic reconciliation functionality is at the heart of the system and allows customers to achieve compliance with the OPG Deputyship standards, such as Standard 3a(6) which places a positive obligation on public authority deputies to ensure that they have systems in place which provide suitable controls for managing, and accounting for, the clients’ funds.
The advancement, designed to mitigate risk and provide process efficiency through automation, was recognised at Wiltshire Council, who upon being asked about additional benefits they have seen since beginning to use CasparCloud, described how “the speed of the system as a whole, in particular; running reports (especially longer ones) reconciliation and producing annual accounts has been beneficial for the team.” Cheryl finished by highlighting how the overhaul has resulted in a key advantage for the Council with ‘reporting functionality being more versatile, making the longer-term housekeeping easier on the system as (they) understand and utilise the reporting functions more.’
CasparCloud came to market last Autumn with a progressive roadmap and is set to continue growing to meet the ever-changing industry and regulatory demands and continue to ease the burden on Court of Protection teams across England and Wales.
